Homeschoolers Series:
Kinetic Art (ages 12-15)

The Montshire Museum of Science offers unique programs to enrich your family’s homeschool curriculum with opportunities for inquiry-based science learning. Through these multi-week drop-off programs, a small group of learners will engage in hands-on, creative exploration of science, technology, engineering, math and the arts at the Montshire.

All programs will accommodate current guidelines of mask-wearing, social distancing, healthy hand hygiene, as well as individual use and sanitation of materials and supplies.

Explore force and motion as we apply scientific principles of equilibrium, stability, center of balance, and gravity to our focused engineering and tinkering time together. Engaging challenges at the start of each in-person session will allow us to gain familiarity with the properties of the materials we have to build with, and help generate ideas on how they may be integrated into larger projects, as we engineer kinetic sculptures and mechanisms.

Wednesdays, 10am-12pm, November 4, 11, and 18.

12-15 year olds

Limit: 8 participants
