“Forty years of steadily accumulating research shows that out-of-school or ‘complementary learning’ opportunities are major predictors of children’s development, learning and educational achievement.”
- Harvard Family Research Project
At our 110-acre site in Norwich, Vermont, we serve 160,000 people each year. But our influence is not limited to the Upper Valley. We serve individuals, families and schools throughout northern New England. And Montshire's groundbreaking educational initiatives have garnered national recognition.
As a nonprofit organization, the Montshire depends on individuals and businesses to support our mission and invest in the next generation. Your donations today make tomorrow possible.

“Nothing lifts my spirits like a visit to the Montshire when the exhibits are teeming with families and school children. I can see the joy and excitement of discovery on their faces as they share happy unstructured time together. I am proud to be associated with the Montshire and I hope you are too!” - Cinny Bensen
