The Montshire offers special days for homeschoolers to explore science in unique and fun ways.

On Homeschoolers Day, supplement and enrich your homeschool science program with exhibits and activities focusing on air and engineering.

10:30am Wind Turbines – Design and test an efficient wind turbine. For ages 8 and up. Classroom
10:30am Wind Vehicles – Construct a contraption that harnesses the power of wind to move. For all ages. Community Room
12:00pm Hot Air Balloons – Build a paper balloon to test just how high it can go. For ages 8 and up. Classroom
12:00pm Stomp Rockets – Build, launch, and modify paper rockets to see how far the can shoot. For all ages. Community Room
1:30pm Properties of Air – Experiment with pressure and volume as you explore the behavior of gases. For ages 8 and up. Classroom
1:30pm Parachutes – Build and test a miniature parachute to see how slowly it can descend off the balcony. For all ages. Community Room
