The Montshire has established a new special impact fund to help us confront another year of fiscal and programmatic challenges wrought by the Covid-19 pandemic. Montshire Now & Next will enable the Montshire to be nimble, innovative, and responsive in rapidly changing and exceptionally difficult circumstances.
Despite a three-and-a-half-month closure, the Montshire responded to the public health crisis by harnessing the creativity of our team to devise new outdoor experiences, develop virtual programs and online resources, and design no-touch and low-touch exhibits for our visitors. We are addressing the community’s needs for science learning and family engagement by meeting learners where they are—at home, online, or here at the Montshire. Families, teachers, and schools have expressed great appreciation for the opportunity to learn—joyfully and safely—in partnership with the Museum. As we move forward, Montshire Now & Next will help us reimagine and reinventscience learning strategies, exhibits, programs, systems, communications, and community engagement at the speed of change.
Charitable contributions are essential. Many of the Montshire’s typical sources of revenue are just a fraction of what they were before the public health crisis began. The number of Montshire visitors has declined substantially. Travel restrictions limit the numbers of people coming from our neighboring communities. We respect and applaud the caution of our science-conscious community members, which has allowed our region to fare better than most. However, we will need the community’s support to weather the uncertainty of the months ahead.
Please help us weather this crisis by contributing to our Resilience and Recovery Fund.
Your contributions will help us take care of our live animals.
Your contributions will help us create online learning opportunities for you and your family.
Your contributions will help us pay our staff to do this important work, and prepare to reopen in the future, ready to serve you in person once again.
