Dig into science and history on a day all about archaeology! Focusing on the study of humans through found objects, Archaeology Day combines both science and history through a day of fun-filled activities.
November 10, 2018: Take Apart Day
Join us and explore the “guts” of VCRs, toasters, cameras, and toys. You’ll find gears, cams, linkages, speakers, motors, and other components that work together to form complex mechanical and electrical machines.
January 26, 2019: Astronomy Day
Join us for a day of planetary and astronomical exploration during Astronomy Day. Museum education staff and guest astronomers will provide a full day of activities for learners of all ages, covering topics from stars to planets, comets to meteorites. Free with Museum admission.
February 16, 2019: Igloo Build
Join igloo-building expert Dr. Bert Yankielun and learn how to build an insulated, sturdy house, strong enough to support the weight of a polar bear, using nothing but water and a handsaw.
April 6, 2019: Cardboard City Program
Transform the Montshire’s community room into a model city make of cardboard! Create amazing 3D structures out of the simplest tools and materials: cardboard, tape, and scissors. Design, obtain approval from the city planning board, then build your own free-standing structure that will join other buildings, parks, bridges, boats, and busses.
