Aquatic Investigations

Learn about the lives of creatures in local rivers and ponds while traveling to aquatic habitats in the Upper Valley.

Campers observe different organisms, use sampling equipment, and conduct scientific experiments. One day will be spent in canoes studying the flora and fauna of the Connecticut River. Days also include swimming and other outdoor activities.

Fee: Members: $360, non-members: $400

Inventors’ Workshop

Inventors’ Workshop is perfect for those who like to create, design, experiment, and take on exciting engineering challenges while engaging in fun, hands-on projects.

Campers will sketch ideas, troubleshoot designs and bring their imagination to life through their inventions. There’s also time during camp to swim, play games, hike, and enjoy other outdoor adventures.

Fee: Members: $315, non-members: $355

Time: 9am–3pm

Children may sign up for only one session of Inventors’ Workshop.

Montshire Maker Camp

Creative engineering and top-end tinkering for builders, makers, inventors, and all curious kids. Bring to life amazing creations from your imagination, and our supply of unique materials, opportunities to learn new Maker skills and use real tools (laser cutter, too!), and expert guidance.

Fee: Members: $210, non-members: $240

Time: 9am–12pm

Morning extended care is available if only signing up for the 1/2 day option.

A supervised lunch hour will be provided for students who are signed up for both Montshire Maker Camp and Science Stories.

Science Stories

Learn how to storyboard, shoot, and edit your own original short films!

Over the course of this camp, learn the basics of film production, cinematography, and post-production, all while developing an understanding of story structure and collaboration. Together, we’ll shoot and edit films with science and environmental themes. Camp will culminate with a screening of our original short films!

Fee: Members: $210, non-members: $240

Time: 1–4pm

A supervised lunch hour will be provided for students who are signed up for both Montshire Maker Camp and Science Stories.

July 20–24 Session SS5: Grades 6-8

Mapping the Montshire

Explore different and creative ways to map the Montshire, inside and out. Using a mix of science, art and technology, we’ll try new and interesting ways to explore and document the natural and built world of the Montshire. Create maps and guides using a variety of sensory inputs that will help others explore the Montshire in a novel way, through a different perspective.

Upper Valley Adventures

While climbing a local mountain, scouting wetlands, and paddling on the Connecticut River, campers will hone their outdoor skills and learn about unique habitats and the creatures that make these places home. Campers explore a different location each day and spend time playing games, swimming, and making new friends.
