Join us for Cardboard Community, from April 12 through 16. The Montshire and Cedar Circle Farm & Education Center have partnered together to offer a week of learning for the entire family through a collection of hands-on activities, online resources, and virtual live events.
Expanding on the ideas and activities of Cardboard City (the Montshire’s annual celebration of creative construction), this special at-home program invites participants to investigate the sustainability of our lives, homes and communities, and to reflect on how we might design a greener, cleaner, and more liveable future for ourselves and each other.
We provide the structure. You decide the pace.
Your Cardboard Community experience includes a thoughtfully designed and downloadable guide of activities and resources, as well as exclusive access to a series of virtual events with regional experts and educators. Participate in as much as you’d like! Pick and choose which and how many of the resources best fit your family’s time and interest.
The Cardboard Community package includes:
- An introduction to engineering, design, and sustainability concepts
- A collection of hands-on inquiry-based science, engineering, and design activities to fill an entire week, that encourage your family to explore, investigate, and create together
- Daily emails that offer suggestions for structuring your week of family learning
- Exclusive access to special online events featuring regional experts and educators; events will be recorded
Join us each day of the week, April 12 to 16, at 10am, for a special online learning workshop featuring Montshire Science Educator, Katie Price, along with regional experts and educators. A Zoom link will be sent each morning for the day’s live event. Live events will be recorded. Registered families may access these recordings the day after the event.
