His books include The Way Things Work Now, How Machines Work: Zoo Break!, The Way We Work, and Black and White. He has received numerous awards, including the Caldecott Medal and Honor Awards, the Boston Globe-Horn Book Award, and the Washington Post-Children’s Book Guild Nonfiction Award.
