Take part in 75-minute family workshops for children 6-12 years old and their caregivers. Even extended families in multiple locations can participate!
During the workshop, a Museum Educator will lead learners through activities via Zoom. Each workshop will cover a unique science topic.
Experiment with density and buoyancy in this virtual workshop as we predict and test what will sink or float. As an engineering challenge, we will design boats and maybe even a life jacket or raft for a toy that would normally sink.
Materials Needed:
- Water tub (e.g. large Tupperware or plastic bowl)
- Towel for cleaning up drips
- Assorted items for testing (make sure they are things that can get wet) — aluminum foil, pennies, a couple small zip-top or plastic bags, rubber bands, packing material such as small pieces of foam or bubble wrap, clear cup or small jar
