Professional Development:
Engineering from the Junk Drawer

Online Workshop for teachers of grades 4–8

Do you have a junk drawer at home? Maybe even at school? It’s that place that accumulates things that just can’t be thrown out because they could be useful someday. Learn how to use common bits and pieces (straws, paperclips, rubber bands, and more) to do creative engineering projects in your classroom.

The Montshire Museum of Science’s live webinar series offers teachers and homeschool educators opportunities for professional development in STEM education. These bite-sized online workshops are designed to provide exciting ways to invigorate your science classroom without having to travel to the Montshire.

This season, we’re focusing on incorporating engineering into your science curriculum. All workshops will review the NGSS engineering practices and how they support the content learning goals for specific units of study.
