Celebrate the power of air!
Can it float? Does it glide? Will it fly?
We’ll explore the concepts behind our Air Works exhibition and build a variety of contraptions that can soar through the museum.
SCHEDULE OF ACTIVITIES
|10am–12pm||Hot Air Balloons||Work together to make your own paper hot air balloon. See how high it can go when you launch it!||Community Room (drop-in family activities)|
|11am||Parachutes||Make your own toy parachute using everyday objects. Learn how to keep your parachute aloft and test it out on the Museum floor.||Science Discovery Lab, 2nd Floor (scheduled activities)|
|1pm||Hoopster Gliders||Create your own miniature glider and see how far it can soar through the air.||Science Discovery Lab, 2nd Floor (scheduled activities)|
|2–4pm||Wind Vehicles||Build a wind-powered toy car. Make it move using different types of sails.||Community Room (drop-in family activities)|
|3pm||Stomp Rockets||Use air pressure (and the force of your stomp!) to launch a paper rocket into the air above.||Science Discovery Lab, 2nd Floor (scheduled activities)|
