The Montshire is a community treasure for everyone, made possible by the support and participation of thousands of generous donors. The Montshire is committed to providing rewarding family experiences all year long, and promoting a better understanding and appreciation of science.
At our 110-acre site in Norwich, Vermont, we serve 150,000 people each year. But our influence is not limited to the Upper Valley. We serve individuals, families and schools throughout northern New England. And Montshire's groundbreaking educational initiatives have garnered national recognition.
Donors to The Montshire Fund make it possible for the Museum to be successful. Admission and membership fees do not cover the full cost of operations. Donors also help us reach families in need and provide Museum access to people of all income levels. For example:
- Thousands of people visit the Museum free each year through our partnerships with local human service agencies.
- Dozens of children receive scholarships for educational programs like Montshire Summer Camp.
- Approximately 20% of the students we serve through school-based outreach programs participate in the free or reduced lunch program, a key indicator of poverty.
- Admission and program fees are set below cost. Charitable gifts underwrite all our programs and keep fees low.

In recognition of their generous support, donors of all levels are
recognized in Montshire's Annual Report. Donors of $150 or more receive
expanded membership benefits, including:
- Complimentary Six-Person Membership with all benefits
- 10 free guest passes
- 20% savings in the Museum Store
- Caregiver admission privileges (upon request)

Under IRS guidelines, the value of membership benefits is not substantial so your payment is tax-deductible. Donors of $150 or more receive 10 free admission passes with an estimated fair market value of $9 each.
