Renting the Montshire

With exciting exhibit spaces, spectacular outdoor areas to explore on a 110-acre property, and a fully-equipped kitchen, it's easy to see why the Montshire is fast becoming a choice venue for meetings, banquets, holiday parties, birthdays, anniversary celebrations, and receptions. Your imagination is the limit when it comes to the type of event that can be hosted here! !

The Museum has a list of approved caterers that can handle everything from gourmet snacks to elegant sit-down dinners. (The Museum does not endorse any specific caterers, but these businesses have handled events in the Museum and are familiar with our amenities.) If there's another caterer you'd like to use, we'd be happy to consider them for approval.

The Museum building can comfortably accommodate up to 450 people. The Community Room, our carpeted all-purpose program room, can seat up to 150 people. There is plenty of free parking in front of the building and most Museum parking spaces are accessible by wheelchair. When we host your event, you receive:

• Access to exhibit galleries

• Use of our Community Room (approx. 2300 square ft.)

• Use of a kitchen with two stoves, refrigerator, and dishwasher

• Separate entrance to Community Room and a private loading dock entrance

• Free parking for 225 vehicles

• Museum tables and chairs for 125 people.

As a special treat, why not include our outdoor Science Park into your festivities? From May until October, the water exhibits can be turned on for your guests to enjoy. Dance on the terrace, count the stars over the Connecticut River, play in The Rill, or take a leisurely walk along our wooded trails. A warm summer evening in Science Park will only enhance the fun!

 

Availability and Fees

The Museum may be rented every day except Christmas, New Year's Day, and Thanksgiving Day. Start setting up at 3:30 p.m. in our Community Room, then begin your event at 5:30. (You may set up tables or decorations in the exhibit galleries beginning at 5 p.m., when we close to the general public.)

Building Rental Building Rental & Science Park Additional time after 10 p.m.

Montshire Corporate Associates members are eligible for a 25% discount off building rental fees. MCA members also have the option of renting just the Montshire Community Room.
