Summer Camp

The Montshire Museum of Science is proud to celebrate 30 years of summer camp! Montshire's Science and Nature Summer Camps provide the perfect setting for children to explore, investigate, and discover science and nature.

Due to construction at the Ray School this summer our Montshire camp in Hanover will be based out of Area 5 at Storrs Pond Recreation Area.

Directions to the camp site:

From Route 10 take Reservoir Road (at roundabout) to the Storrs Pond entrance.  Proceed into the park and follow signs to Area 5.  If you have questions you can stop at the Storrs Pond office.

In the afternoon, please let the attendant at the booth know you are coming in to pick up a Montshire camper. Please note that Storrs Pond is a fee-for-use site and that if you would like to stay after camp you will need to pay admission at the booth.

This year's program includes ten exciting camps designed for children in preschool to those entering 8th grade.

"I was impressed with the knowledge, energy and warmth your staff demonstrated, from start to the end of the day." -Montshire Summer Camp parent

What makes Montshire Summer Camp the best science and nature camp in the Upper Valley? The highly trained staff, terrific programs, great facilities, and the low staff-to-camper ratio.

The majority of Montshire Summer Camps are based outdoors at Montshire's 110-acre campus in Norwich, Vermont. Several aquatic themed camps are held at our Hanover, New Hampshire site.

Montshire Summer Camps maintain a low camper-to-instructor ratio (ranging from 4:1 for our Preschool program to 6:1 in our camps for older children) ensuring individual attention is given to each camper.

Montshire Summer Camp Staff

The college-aged or older staff members are well trained and knowledgeable. They have a variety of interests and experiences, and a love of working with children. The camp staff undergoes extensive training by Montshire's full-time science educators, and is proficient in safety and first-aid procedures.
