Special member benefit
in June!
Montshire members have an opportunity to visit the new McAuliffe-
Shepard Discovery Center for free. The Christa McAuliffe Planetarium
in Concord, NH, has been reopened to the public with a new name and a
variety of exhibits about air and space science. Phase 1 of the
Center's exhibit galleries is now open.
In June 2009, you and your
family (up to the number on your Montshire membership card) are
invited for one free visit to the Discovery Center. Just show your
membership card at the admission desk. For driving directions and a

Not valid on special event days; planetarium show tickets are sold
separately.

As long as one of the adults named on the membership card is present, you can bring friends, family or neighbors. Total group size (including members and guests) is limited to the number on your membership card.
Admission privileges for young children
For several years, children under the age of three have been admitted to the Montshire free of charge. On January 1, 2009, this changed for paying visitors (non-members). Children under two are now admitted free.
We are offering Montshire members a one-year grace period. Throughout 2009, members' children under the age of three will continue to be admitted free and need not be counted toward your admission privileges. On January 1, 2010, the grace period will end and children aged two or older must be counted toward your group total. When purchasing your membership, you may want to plan ahead to ensure that your membership size will fit your family throughout the year. Alternatively, you can purchase a membership upgrade at any time for $20.

An option for caregivers
You can extend your membership privileges so your caregiver - such as a grandparent, babysitter or nanny - can escort your children to the Museum in your absence. The caregiver (at least 16 years old) must show a valid Caregiver Card, your Membership Card, and ID. Up to two caregivers' names may be on the card, which is valid for the length of your membership. This option is available for $25 (free to donors of $150 or more).
Important membership guidelines
There are several important guidelines that allow us to serve you, our members. These guidelines enable us to keep fees low and to offer you free admission. Membership is not transferable. One or two adults from the same household must be named on the membership card. At least one named member must be present for each visit. To maintain the integrity of membership cards, the Montshire admissions desk may require a photo ID along with the membership card from time to time. Please bring your membership card with you to the Museum.
Supporting the Montshire
Everyone who contributes more than the selected membership fee is considered a donor to The Montshire Fund. Our donors are very special members who partner with us to make Montshire accessible to families of all income levels. Donors of $150 or more receive expanded membership benefits, including free guest passes, a Caregiver Card, and a complimentary Six-Person Flex Membership.
Tax Deductibility
Under IRS guidelines, the value of membership benefits is not substantial so your payment is tax-deductible. Donors of $150 or more receive 10 free admission passes with an estimated fair market value of $9 each. Other donor benefits have an insubstantial value.
