Be The Dinosaur and GIANTS: African Dinosaurs
Be the Dinosaur®
Life in the Cretaceous
Travel back in time 65+ million years ago and Be the Dinosaur. Explore some of the greatest mysteries of paleontology is a completely interactive way. Introducing the world's first dinosaur simulation—the most complex and far reaching restoration of dinosaurs and their environment ever created!
Designed with the assistance of world-renowned paleontologists, this exhibition brings dinosaurs alive through the magic of interactive digital simulation, the same technology behind Finding Nemo, Shrek, Wall-E, and countless animated films. Only this time you're not in the audience—you are the star of the show! You are a living, breathing dinosaur in an accurate ancient ecosystem.
Take a seat in a state-of-the-art Be the Dinosaur Simulator Pod and be captivated by the beauty and adventure of the world of the dinosaurs depicted in all its Hi-Definition glory on the simulator screens. Explore the mysteries and theories of dinosaur behavior in an environment so detailed that digital winds carry virtual odors and photorealistic flora grow and have their own nutritional values. Find and communicate with others in your herd, cooperate in defense, use your sense of smell to find food and other animals, cool off in the chill waters of a jungle stream, observing both fish and insect life, and then embark on new adventures!
You can experience it all because you can - BE THE DINOSAUR!
GIANTS: African Dinosaurs
Towering dinosaur skeletons, touchable fossils, life-sized flesh models, and riveting documentaries bring the art and science of Africa's dinosaurs to life. GIANTS: African Dinosaurs, created by Project Exploration, is the first public exhibition of its kind featuring Africa's lost dinosaur world. GIANTS showcases the African finds of world-renowned paleontologist Dr. Paul Sereno and brings to life some of the most important dinosaur discoveries of the last decade.
GIANTS is NOT your ordinary dinosaur exhibit. Most dinosaurs are known from North America and Asia. But, GIANTS lets visitors take a glimpse at what the dinosaur world was like in Africa more than 100 million years ago—and what it takes to search for fossils in one of the harshest environments on Earth. Discover what is involved in uncovering and piecing fossils back together. Wonder at the magnificence of a 33-foot-high rearing herbivore, Jobaria, or the toothy six-foot-long skull of Carcharodontosaurus, Africa's answer to T. rex.
Through this interactive dinosaur experience, visitors will learn about fossil discovery and be amazed by the art and beauty of ancient bones.
