Museum Internships

The 15 week, full-time internship program is held during all seasons of the year. Part-time internships may be available to meet the needs of an individual intern. Training begins with an orientation to all phases of the Museum's operations. Interns gradually assume responsibilities during this period and by the second week are an integral part of the Museum staff. In addition to these responsibilities, each intern is involved in a major or several minor projects to be completed by the end of the internship. Interns will be able to confer regularly with staff members concerning their progress. Internship options include:
  • Exhibit Design & Fabrication
  • Public Relations
  • Science Education

Stipend:

Most full time interns receive a stipend of $1000 for the term. Students whose financial aid package includes work-study allocations may be eligible to use those funds for this position.

To apply:

Please send a resume, an application, and names and contact information of two references to montshire@montshire.org or mail to Intern Program, Montshire Museum of Science, Norwich, VT 05055.

Prerequisites include an interest in science and a desire to work with people. Priority will be given to those interested in working in the field after the program. Familiarity with natural and physical science, communications and education are useful.

We have a separate page of information on Internship Options.
