The Development Assistant works (60% FTE) under the supervision of the Director of Development and Visitor Services to support a variety of fundraising and membership activities.
Areas of Responsibility:
Assist with the implementation of fundraising and membership projects and appeals.
Respond to public inquiries about membership and giving.
Process special gifts, produce acknowledgement letters, and assist with membership and donor renewals.
Serve as the lead resource for the Museum’s donor database. Analyze data and produce reports on a set schedule and as needed.
Organize and attend Montshire Fund Committee meetings and provide support to committee volunteers.
Support member and donor communications by creating, reviewing, proofreading and distributing materials via mail, email and web.
As needed, provide back-up reception support for Visitor Services and support for special events, including some evenings.
Support a culture that embraces the Museum’s customer service principles and encourages visitors to engage with the Museum (purchase memberships, make donations, register for programs, etc.).
College degree or equivalent experience required;
Professional and personable, with excellent communication and writing skills;
Strong computer skills with experience using databases, FileMaker preferred;
Highly organized and detail oriented;
Valid driver’s license;
Team player with a positive attitude and flexible approach to problem solving;
Able to work with diverse personalities in a busy and open work environment;
Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
